Amazing people there! Our college-aged daughter was driving home to Nebraska from a weekend in Chicago on an extremely hot day, when her car began to overheat. Her phone was not working correctly but she could text us. We were able to call AAA for her and they recommended Motor Works as an approved service center. We called them and told them the situation. Being they were only a few miles away, they offered to go pick her up so she did not have to wait in the heat for an hour for the tow truck. They got her car a short while later and quickly diagnosed the problem. The car needed new water pump and it was mid-afternoon by then. However, Megan asked the tech to stay late to get it installed for her, which they did and our daughter was back on the road by early evening. Having your young adult daughter so far away, in what was a scary and new situation for her, as a parent is so stressful. The kindness, professionalism and care the staff at Motor Works showed her was truly appreciated, not to mention the quick repair of her car. I am not sure we will ever get back to this place but we certainly thank Megan and all the kind people who work there. You made a bad situation a little easier! Highly recommend them!!
Late Friday afternoon I was driving from Chicago to KC. The battery light came on, I pulled over, and AAA towed me to Motor Works. I arrived at 4:30 PM. They diagnosed the car quickly and explained exactly what was wrong. They did not try and sell me something I didn’t need. They knew I needed to get back on the road and on with my trip that day and stayed past 5:00 to ensure the job was completed and I was able to get on my way. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness, honesty, and willingness to go that extra mile. They saved my weekend and I will be forever grateful.
300 miles away from home. Limped our classic car there. Excellent service, even gave us ride to motel. The clerk at motel could not say enough great things about Dan.
If I lived here this would be my shop.
As a daughter of a mechanic, it’s been hard to find a company to really trust my cars and money to. But this family owned business is just that and more: trustworthy, honest, not pushy and super courteous. If you want to find a shop/staff that you can trust, look no further!
My husband works out of town, and on his way home from work he noticed a strange noise coming from the car. We were nervous, so we decided to call Motor Works. What was a frustrating experience was made easier by the people at Motor Works. They did everything they could to reduce cost as much as possible, and not once did we worry about being overcharged or told our car needed something it didn’t. Meghan was especially helpful. She would keep us updated on what was going on with our Jeep, and not once did she seem annoyed with my many calls. When we picked the Jeep up, she took the time to go through everything that they did, what needed to be done in the future, and got us scheduled for our next service appointment. My husband and I have only been in the area for a year and it’s starting to feel like home, and knowing we have a place to take our car in a pinch makes it feel even more so.
The staff was super friendly, concerned, and helped us get back on the road. We were traveling from Iowa, to WV for a family reunion! The owner Marty made sure we got on the road. They were also pet friendly. Very accommodating. Great place for car repair! Thank you Marty. And all your staff !
Best auto shop around. They treat everyone like family.
One day my window on my older vehicle got stuck down and it was pouring rain with my three kids in the car, not to mention it was cold. I called them and they said come in, we will get it up for you. And so they did. I did not have money at the time to get it fixed so they made it so it could not go down again. This is exactly what I needed and wanted… no more no less. I had all three of my kids with me and their waiting room had more than most places. A tv, books, coloring stuff, and they were extremely kind to my children. It was right after school and they were hungry so the staff gave them their own water bottles and leftover doughnuts. They also only charged me half an hour of labor which I think to be honest it was probably 45 minutes. My first experience with them was really, really great.
