Not every transmission problem requires a major removal and overhaul of the transmission.
Motor Works is highly trained in diagnosing transmission problems. Many of these problems involve failure of electronic control systems which can be repaired with the transmission still in the vehicle.
Sometimes major internal damage in a transmission will require a complete overhaul of the unit. The quality of the overhaul is what separates
Motor Works from its competition.
Our transmissions are removed from the vehicle, disassembled and cleaned inside and out down to the last nut and bolt. Seals, gaskets and clutches are replaced. Electronics and gears are inspected and replaced as required. A remanufactured torque converter is installed, the cooler system is flushed and most important, all updates are performed.
As a vehicle adds miles the transmission starts to wear and sometimes prematurely wears out. This is often due to poor design and manufacturing. These problems are recorded as bulletins so updates can be performed to correct the weaknesses.Updates commonly include new strengthened parts, larger lubrication holes, redesigned electronics, etc.
Motor Work’s updated transmissions are commonly stronger and last longer than the original factory units. We are so confident of our product we offer a three year 36,000 mile warranty on passenger vehicles. Commercial vehicles are warranted for two years or 24,000 miles.
