NEWS FLASH! TUNE-UPS NO LONGER FIX BROKEN CARS!

It sounds counterintuitive but let me explain. Prior to 1981 and the advent of nearly universal automotive computerization, cars had many components that could cause them to run poorly when worn. These included points, condenser, distributor cap, rotor and wires. Careful adjustments of these parts was critical.

Historically, customers asked for a tune-up when their older cars misbehaved and it often used to help.

Today’s modern cars do not have most of these parts. If they run poorly or the check engine light is on thorough diagnostic testing is now required. Tune-Ups No Longer Fix Broken Cars!

What remains of a tune-up is now called an Engine Preventative Maintenance Service. It consists of replacing the common parts at left like the air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs. There are no adjustments, the computer handles it all.

The air filter should be inspected every 3,000 miles during each oil change. The fuel filter should be replaced at 30,000 mile intervals. Spark plugs must be done every 60,000 miles regardless of what the manufacturer recommends. Spark plugs left in longer than 60,000 miles may seize in the engine and break when removed.

Performing an Engine Preventative Maintenance Service helps keep engine power and gas mileage at their peak.

Decarbonization

“Blowing the cobs out of the engine” has always been referred to as putting your foot to the floor to blow the carbon out of the engine. It has never worked well. Luckily there have always been products that help do it well and they have never been better than today’s modern carbon removal injection systems.

Motor Work’s state-of-the-art system cleans the injectors and engine carbon. If used every 30,000 miles it can return significant lost engine power, produce up to a three mile per gallon improvement in gas mileage and improve idle quality.

We have many customers happily surprised by the improvements in their engines after using this service. Call us and let Motor Works return your engine to top efficiency.
